A new year means new fashion collaborations, and accessory brand Charles & Keith is kicking it off with their latest collection. The Singapore-based label worked with designers Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang of Shanghai brand Shushu/Tong for a limited-edition capsule available online at Charles & Keith starting January 11.

Childhood friends Lei and Jiang established Shushu/Tong in 2015 after graduating from London College of Fashion and working in the fashion industry under Simone Rocha and Gareth Pugh. Describing their aesthetic as “bold and feminine,” the Gen Z designers built the label with the intention of exploring femininity in a modern way. This entails “unabashedly feminine details—ruffles, bowknots; but deflated of primness with relaxed and cool attitude.”

Shushu/Tong’s collection with Charles & Keith is their first collaboration ever. For this milestone, the designers took inspiration from roses which are meant to represent “ephemeral beauty, fragility, and charm.” The capsule consists of two bags and two pairs of shoes that incorporate the flower.

Focusing on the classic box shoulder bag, the collection features two versions of the accessory. The red version showcases a rose print while the black has a single rose embellishment.

Likewise, the shoe options stick to the red and black color scheme and rose theme. These timeless Mary Janes are reimagined with a square toe and a rose detail at the end of the straps. These additions to a longtime fashion staple hold true to Shushu/Tong’s self-described “feminine style with a twist.”
