A few months ago, Charli XCX shared the top ten items she can't live without with British GQ. Included on that list was the beloved, fan-favorite Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, which she said was one of her forever essentials and the item that is always in her bag — not to mention the product she brings up most frequently in interviews.
“They are yet to send me any free product, but I'm still trucking away,” Charli XCX said referring to Laneige. You can check the clip below:
After singing the product its praises, Charli added that she thought the brand would never book her for the role of an ambassador. “They are never going to book me. They booked Sydney Sweeney, and that's it,” she lamented in the video. But think again, Charli! The Brat musician is now a certified Laneige partner, which means she can enjoy her favorite lip mask allll the time.
On August 14, 2024, Charli shared the news on Instagram with a video of herself showing off some fresh new Laneige lip products, set to the audio from her British GQ interview where she references the free product. “They finally did!” she captioned her video, applying her treasured lip balm in the process.

Elsewhere in the interview, Charli clarifies that it's not really about scoring free products; it's just a product she loves and uses every single day, “to the point where if I was going out and I didn't have this, I would go home and get it and then go back out again.”
Although the Lip Sleeping Mask is marketed as a sleep mask treatment, like most of us, Charli uses it as a lip balm all day. Her love for it began after a round of Accutane, which can be super drying to skin. She tried lots of different balms, and the Laneige won her heart — and the feeling is clearly mutual.
