It is almost that time of the year when our socials are flooded with content from Indio, California, compliments of Coachella. Whether you are a repeat festival attendee or this is your debut, festival dressing has become one of the most important steps (if not the most important) in prepping. And as you get ready to party in the desert with the biggest names in music, you may panic over what to wear. Thankfully, Teen Vogue got the inside scoop from celebrity stylist sister duo Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo — a.k.a. Olivia Rodrigo and Rosalía’s go-to stylists. Below, the Delgadillo sisters share their tips and tricks for nailing festival dressing this season.

Chloe and Chenelle teamed up with Pinterest to create a moodboard on how attendees can nail the biggest trends for Coachella 2024. ICYMI: Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat are set to headline the iconic Coachella this year. Fittingly, one of Pinterest’s predicted Coachella-goer aesthetics is “Lana Del Rey core,” embracing femininity and complete with corsets, bows, tulle, leather, and, of course, different textures of black. In fact, at the time of writing, searches for that style aesthetic were up 300%, according to Pinterest. But back to what to wear, here are the Delgadillos' tips:

1. Throw it all the way back to 2004

Chloe and Chenelle’s personal favorite festival aesthetic this season is “boho chic, but make it 2024,” complete with overstuffed bags, Sky Ferreira vibes, and studded iPhone cases. “We are seeing a surge in 10-year-ago Coachella — think Vanessa Hudgens and the Olsen Twins,” the sisters explain before continuing, laughing, “Nothing is put together, which we love. You try, but it looks like you didn’t try, which makes it look cool.”

2. Layer up

For first-time festivalgoers, the sister duo says finding the first reference that you like is so important. Once you find the first reference, you can build on it and grab inspo from it. “Even finding an artist and their style that you admire – that can be your starting point,” Chloe and Chenelle elaborate. More importantly, while the look of ‘fit' is important, the sisters agree that there should be a “balance” between the cuteness and the comfort levels of the ‘fit since you will be wearing it all day. And don’t forget to grab a jacket, because the sisters say that everyone always forgets to pack one, and it gets cold in the desert at night.

Both Chloe and Chenelle agree that accessories are an absolute must and can elevate any festival look. “A cute hairstyle or adding bows, hats, and headbands can spice up the look, [and] belts and keychains are also such a thing right now!” The sisters share that they end up throwing all their favorite accessories into a bag and figuring it out when they get to the festival.

4. Get savvy

A big misconception about festival dressing? Spending a lot of money on your ‘fit. “It doesn’t need to be a break-the-bank situation; you can get crafty with what is in your wardrobe,” the sisters say. Also, the duo suggests that if you have procrastinated, the answer is thrifting or even collaborating with your fellow festivalgoer friends’ wardrobes to ensure you have pieces you can share and reuse — just make sure to pack an on-the-go laundry kit just in case.
