Time to hang up your favorite bandana and store your cowboy boots, because Coachella 2025 is officially in the books. Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, Charli XCX, Jennie, Green Day, and more Coachella performers transformed the California desert into a playground filled with music, arts, and unforgettable cultural moments over the course of two weekends. (Seriously, will we ever forget that surprise Lorde performance?)

Last year’s festival included a surprise Justin Bieber appearance, a soul-reviving Kesha and Reneé Rapp duet, and a NSFW “Nonsense” outro by Sabrina Carpenter that left us blushing. That meant that this year, the festival's two weekends were bound to pop off with Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott as headliners. From surprise performances to electrifying sets, we’ve rounded up the best moments you might have missed from Coachella 2025 Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 below.

WEEKEND 2

Lady Gaga expertly handled a microphone malfunction

Just like Megan Thee Stallion during Weekend 1 (keep scrolling to get the deets), Mother Monster dealt with some technical difficulties during her second performance of the festival when her microphone began to glitch — basically right away, starting during her song “Abracadabra.”

As noted by Billboard, Gaga ditched the headset for a handheld mic until things got sorted out and later referenced the incident by turning it into a vocal flex, saying, "I’m sorry my mic was broken for a second. At least you know I sing live,” she told the crowd. “I guess all we can do is our best, and I’m certainly giving you my best tonight.”

Charli XCX brought out Addison Rae and put Brat Summer to rest

It's not Coachella without a few guest stars, of course, and Charli XCX welcomed her pal Addison Rae to the stage for a surprise performance. (Rae was already a special guest performer with Arca during Weekend 1, you can read more about that below.) As expected, the two performed their song “Von Dutch," with Charli in all black and Rae in bubblgeum pink.

And it wasn't just Rae who got a moment in the spotlight during Charli's set; the musician also shouted out lots of her peers, friends, and favorite directors in a strobe-lit slideshow. According to Charli, Brat Summer is over, and we should be trading it for an Addison Rae, Lorde, Pink Pantheress, Aidan Zamri, Haim, Yung Lean, Ethel Cain, Cronenberg, Kali Uchis, Pulp, Sean Prince Williams, Perfume Genius, Rosalía, Ari Aster, Krogonada, Caroline, PTA, Joachim Trier, These New Puritans, Turnstile, Hailey Benton Gates, A$AP Rocky, Aronofsky, Blood Orange, Bon Iver, or Celine Song summer instead. Yes, ma'am!

Green Day and Charli XCX ended their “feud”

OK, so it wasn't really a feud at all, but Green Day did reference Charli's viral “Miss Should Be Headliner” sash from Weekend 1, with the band's drummer Tré Cool wearing his own version, which read “Actual Headliner.” Charli loved the look and shared it on X, saying she was “obsessed” with the reference. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong also wore a Brat hat onstage, a nod to the singer and a lil' sartorial truce.

Tyla shut down social media trolls

Tyla set the record straight regarding her Weekend 2 performance outfit, a green bikini top and cutoff shorts set that drew comparisons to Britney Spears's iconic 2001 VMAs ensemble. “Love her but I just thought the outfit was fly… no inspo,” Tyla wrote on X in response to coverage of her outfit. And when an X user said, “I personally think she [Tyla] is a copycat and too full of herself" in response to the conversation around the reported homage, the South African superstar wasted no time shutting the hate down. “Personally I think you should stfu,” she clapped back.

Ed Sheeran filled in

Ed Sheeran lent a helping hand and made an unexpected appearance during Weekend 2, filling the 3 p.m. Saturday slot; Weezer did the same during Weekend 1. This was likely due to some cancellations, including FKA Twigs cancelling her North American tour dates and festival appearances due to visa issues and Anitta pulling out of her slot for “unexpected personal reasons.”

Cynthia Erivo & Laufey performed with the LA Philarmonic

As noted by Variety, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil had a few celebrity guests join them onstage during their Saturday set, including Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, Icelandic jazz-pop musician Laufey, and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Along with the renowned orchestra, Laufey performed two songs, her latest single “Silver Lining” and 2023's “From the Start," and Erivo sang Prince's “Purple Rain” and a song from her upcoming album called “Brick by Brick," while Grohl performed two Foo Fighters songs, “Everlong” and “The Sky is a Neighborhood.” And that wasn't all! Natasha Bedingfield also popped by to sing her beloved song “Unwritten,” a.k.a. The Hills theme song.

WEEKEND 1

Megan Thee Stallion's stellar, star-studded set got cut short

Megan Thee Stallion delivered arguably one of the best sets of the entire first weekend of Coachella, performing her biggest hits and bringing out a handful of surprise guests like Queen Latifah and collaborators Ciara, Victoria Monét, and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante.

However, Entertainment Weekly and other festival attendees have reported that the rapper's sound was cut entirely during her performance of her viral hit “Mamushi.” When the sound didn't seem to be coming back, Megan reportedly said, “Don’t do the hotties like that," before she and her dancers left the stage.

It was one of many technical sound issues Megan seemed to endure throughout her set, reportedly saying earlier in her setlist: “Somebody better come out here and fix my motherf*cking microphone!” Megan was the last entertainer of the evening taking on the main stage before headliner Post Malone was set to perform. (Teen Vogue has reached out to Goldenvoice, the organizers of Coachella, for comment.)

Addison Rae revealed the release date of her album via her underwear

After performing as a special guest of Arca, singer and social star Addison Rae gave the crowd a lingering peek at her derrière through her flowy, sheer white gown — who else do you know that could pull of hiding an album easter egg on their underwear? Rae's hot pink underwear (a custom PINK seamless hiphugger panty) read “JUNE 6” through her dress, signaling to fans that her album would be arriving sooner than later. A day later, Rae revealed a teaser for her next single, “Headphones On.”

Jennie brought out Kali Uchis as a surprise guest

“It feels great to be back here in the desert,” Jennie said, per Billboard. “Thank you for coming to my set.” Jennie's return after headlining Coachella with BLACKPINK back in 2023 is über-special — this is her first time taking on the desert stage as a solo artist. Jennie shared the spotlight with only one other artist this time around, bringing out collaborator Kali Uchis for a live rendition of “Damn Right.”

Noah Cyrus joined Shaboozey for his ‘Coachella Country Hour’ set

Shaboozey called his Coachella set “Coachella Country Hour" and tipped the entire desert on its head. In addition to performing cuts from his album Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going and his mega-hit “A Bar Song,” Shaboozey also invited Noah Cyrus onstage as a guest performer to duet their collab “My Fault.”

Mother Monster promised “Mayhem in the Desert,” and oh, boy, did she deliver. Transforming the festival stage into a full-on stadium-worthy concert, the two-hour set included nods to each of her signature eras. From dressing in the crutches from her infamous “Paparazzi” music video in 2009 to performing “Zombieboy” live for the first time (while dancing with skeletons, no less), it’s safe to say Gagachella was one for the books.

Tyla invited Becky G to join her onstage

To celebrate her first time at Coachella, Tyla quenched her fans’ thirst for a good show by bringing out Becky G. Together, the duo performed their “On My Body” duet. The surprise appearance comes just days after Becky G presented Tyla with the Impact Award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

GloRilla paid tribute to Beyoncé during her set

GloRilla owns Fridays — and not only did she perform her biggest hit “T.G.I.F.” on the first night of Coachella, she delivered it within a mashup of Beyoncé's “Diva,” along with the viral choreography. And while she didn't bring out any surprise guests during Weekend 1, Glo did have special treat for fans: a preview of her new song, which samples Keyshia Cole’s “Love.”

Missy Elliot got her freak on

With over thirty years of hits to her name, it’s no surprise that Missy Elliot’s Coachella set was the stuff of legends. Arriving on set disguised as a futuristic car, the rapper quickly morphed into a transformer; while Optimus Prime and Bumblebee didn’t make an appearance, Missy Elliot proved she’s one of the greats by running through all her legendary hits.

LISA officially checked out of The White Lotus

“This is LISA, for the White Lotus fans, you might be surprised to see Mook onstage,” the global superstar said to her Coachella audience, referencing her White Lotus character Thidapon "Mook" Sornsin. “This is her when she’s not working, you know?”

Jokes aside, LISA brought the heat to the desert, performing hits like “Money” while somehow making time for five, yes, you read that correctly, five costume changes. Eagle-eyed fans also spotted LISA's White Lotus cast-mate Patrick Schwarzenegger and BLACKPINK member Rosé in the crowd supporting their friend.

Benson Boone honored Freddie Mercury

The high-energy “Beautiful Things” crooner Benson Boone took time out of his Coachella set to honor one of the greats: Freddie Mercury. To do so, he brought out Queen lead guitarist Brian May to cover “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Did we mention there was an entire choir as well? Talk about a tribute.

ENHYPEN made their Coachella debut

If we’re being honest, even a 13-song set from ENHYPEN just wasn’t enough. The K-pop group made their Coachella debut on Saturday evening, gracing the Sahara stage in designer denim. The high-energy performance was so good that fans have already dubbed the weekend #ENCHELLA.

Charli XCX delivered the ‘365’ party girl vibes

The only thing hotter than Coachella Valley was Charli xcx’s epic Saturday night set. Forgoing back-up dancers and on-stage musicians, Charli relied on her own high energy and an endless amount of strobe lights to set the right vibe.

Oh, and she had a few friends by her side to help: Troye Sivan joined Charli on stage to sing “Talk talk”; Lorde also made an appearance during a remix of “Girl, so confusing”; and just when you thought Charli’s set couldn’t get any better, Billie Eilish popped in to sing her verse on “Guess.” Oh, and her “Apple” girls for the night were model trio Gabbriette, Quenlin Blackwell, and Alex Consani.

Kylothée had a PDA-filled Coachella date night

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were spotted dancing together during Charli xcx’s set on Saturday night, just one of many adorable moments for the couple that had social media users shipping them all throughout Coachella Weekend 1.

Bernie Sanders introduced Clairo

Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost made a surprise appearance ahead of Clairo’s Saturday night set to introduce Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who then introduced the Charm singer.

Sen. Sanders gave a short speech to the thousands of fans denouncing President Donald Trump’s statements on climate change, a women’s right to choose, and the state of healthcare in the U.S. “This country faces some very difficult challenges, and the future of what happens to America is dependent on your generation,” Sen. Sanders said. “You can turn away and ignore what goes on, but you do so at your own peril. We need you to stand up for justice.”

Then, Green Day dissed Trump and altered a lyric in support of Palestine

Opening their headlining Coachella set with the song “American Idiot,” Green Day switched up the lyric “I’m not a part of the redneck agenda” to “I’m not a part of the MAGA-agenda.” The band first premiered the updated version of this song back in January 2024.

Per EW and Deadline, Green Day made one more topical and political lyric change during their set, changing the “Jesus of Suburbia” line “Runnin' away from pain when you've been victimized” to "Runnin' away from pain like the kids from Palestine, tales from another broken home."

Did Machine Gun Kelly crash Three 6 Mafia's set?

No, okay fine, he was definitely invited, but MGK made sure fans maintained the appropriate amount of hype for his friends Three 6 Mafia during their set. He was joined by Project Pat (!), Travis Barker (!!), and Wiz Khalifa (!!!) as special guests during this epic hip-hop performance. MGK’s appearance comes just a few weeks after welcoming a baby girl with Megan Fox.

The Marías cooled off the desert

With 100-degree heat during the peak of the day, it’s no surprise that The Marías wanted to cool things off during their set. While singing their top hits (in front of Troye Sivan no less), the band made it “snow” in the desert thanks to thousands of engineered flakes. They also performed their new song “Ojos Tristes” off Selena Gomez's new album, which was an unexpected surprise.
