Did Kim Kardashian just troll her younger sister Kendall Jenner on American Horror Story: Delicate?
In a new episode of the horror series, Kim Kardashian, whose character is named Siobhan, is seen beautifully slicing a cucumber for her onscreen bestie, Emma Roberts's character Anna. Kardashian's cucumber-cutting technique is quite a bit more polished and precise than her little sister's, which went viral after Jenner awkwardly tried her hand at slicing the veggie on an episode of The Kardashians. (You know the one.)
OK, so maybe this wasn't outright shade, but then again, maybe it was. Kardashian-as-Siobhan also mentions making a viral TikTok dressing, so it's obvious that AHS is leaning in to the jokes and references of today, and the choice of cucumber versus, say, a tomato or a red pepper, can't be a total coincidence.
Kardashian is also not the first sister to tease Jenner about the incident. Baby sister Kylie Jenner was first to poke fun at the model, captioning a video of herself and Jenner “me and cucumber girl.” Do you think that name caught on in the family group chat?
Jenner herself also responded to Cucumbergate when it happened — she explicitly told the cameraperson on the episode that she was a “not a good cutter” — and got cheeky on Twitter when fans were calling her cutting technique “haunting” and “tragic.” Later, she even dressed up as a cucumber for Halloween, proving that she was in on the joke. But the battle of Jenner versus the cucumber did come to an end; Jenner told the WSJ that she triumphed over the veggie in the end. “Let me just say I successfully cut 'The Cucumber,’” Jenner said during the summer of 2023. “So if anyone says I cannot cut cucumber, I physically cut the cucumber and I did it tastefully. I didn’t hurt anybody. So I can cut cucumbers.”
