Doechii has some words for people who want to shame others for getting plastic surgery or other cosmetic procedures. In a short new video posted to TikTok, the rapper responded to a fan's comment with her honest thoughts about getting work done.
Doechii's message stems from a comment she got on a recent post; in her short TikTok, she shares a pic of said comment, which read, “If you ever get cosmetic surgery I'm leaving," followed by two sad-face emojis.
“I'm gonna keep it so real with you,” Doechii says to the camera while sitting in the makeup chair. “You should already be out the door because I've already had cosmetic enhancements since like 2021. Y'all really have to stop normalizing making comments like these and just let women do whatever the f*ck they wanna do with their bodies.” Short, sweet, and to the point — exactly what we needed to hear today.
More and more celebrities are pushing back on fan comments about their looks and bodies. Over the summer, Selena Gomez directly addressed surgery rumors on TikTok, commenting on a video from 2023 and saying, “Honestly, I hate this. I was on stripes because of [a] flare-up. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone."
In 2023, Ariana Grande discussed the ongoing conversation about her body and “concerns” from fans. “The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly,” she explained, adding that she was “at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”
Grande shared that even when comments come with the best of intentions, they can be hurtful. “So even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with. Be gentle with each other and with yourselves.”
