Last year, leg warmers were all the rage, but this year, Doja Cat is leading the arm warmer renaissance.
Arm warmers were one of those trends from the Y2K era that you either loved and wore all the time — shoutout to Hot Topic, arm warmer emporium — or stayed far away from. Much like leg warmers, which had a resurgence in the 2000s along with the fuzzy arm accessories, you either loved them or hated them. Doja Cat must have loved 'em, because she brought them back for a night out, pairing a cozy baby pink set with a barely-there sheer slip dress. (Arm warmers — great as an accessory, even better to warm up your forearms and elbows when it's chilly outside!)
The rapper documented her throwback-inspired ensemble on Instagram with a handful of pics from an evening of fun with stylist Brett Alan Nelson — with a twist.

At first, Doja wore a sheer chiffon babydoll slip with pastel pink arm warmers, a few necklaces, and glasses, but later in the evening, she and Nelson switched 'fits so the stylist was wearing the slip and arm socks, not Doja; she slipped into his white T-shirt and jeans. (And they each looked great in both outfits too!)
Doja has been working with Nelson for several years, and the two have come up with some of the most jaw-dropping looks of all time, like the red Schiaparelli gown paired with a full body of Swarovski crystals at Paris Couture Week.
"She's down to play. She obviously is very opinionated about the way that she looks, but she also puts a lot of trust in me and lets me do my thing on top of being collaborative with her," Nelson told Variety of working with the musician. “People watch her online and they want to be her friend and they can connect with her because she seems so real and she's always on Instagram Live or TikTok or whatever. She seems so attainable and friendly that everyone just wants to be a part of what she is. Her fan base really fell in love with her because she is such a normal girl… even though she's not normal at all.”
