The rapper debuted a brand new look on Instagram and it’s one of her boldest yet. Doja is now rocking a bright pink buzzcut (Barbie’s influence, anyone?) with a giant black spider graphic on the back studded with gems. Doja’s spider art appears to match her new back tattoo. Inked by tattoo artist MR.K, it features a fine-line skeleton with a spider hanging from it.
Doja captioned the mirror selfie with multiple spider emojis and tagged the hairstylist behind the art Jackie Bieber. The LA-based artist has made a name for herself by using hair as a canvas to dye bright colors and creative graphics. Buzz cuts are one of the most popular styles that Bieber works with. In a 2022 interview with Alternative Press, Bieber claimed that she hand-draws all her designs by projecting an image onto her client’s head.
It seems that Doja can’t resist evolving her aesthetic and we can’t get enough. As buzzcuts see a rise in popularity, turning to hair art is proof that a shaved head can be just as versatile and daring as any other style. Once it grows out you can switch up the design all over again whether that be with a non-permanent hair tattoo like Cardi B or with a subtle color change like Megan Thee Stallion.
