Dua Lipa blessed us with not just one but two extravagant gowns over the weekend — including a sheer getaway moment with rumored boyfriend Callum Turner — and we're still not over them.
Let's rewind a little. First, Dua Lipa attended the 2024 BAFTAs in London on February 18, wearing a floor-length pleated gown from Valentino. The dress featured a halter neckline that was emphasized by a sheer cape draped over one shoulder with a long train following behind.
Contrasting her loosely curled dark cherry red hair, the dress was a tomato red hue. Lipa accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry and opted for her usual makeup style, including thick fluffy brows, soft neutral eyeshadows, bronzed contour, and a cool neutral lip.
Later in the night, Lipa made an outfit change before meeting up with actor Callum Turner at the British Vogue and Tiffany & Co. Celebrate Fashion and Film Party.
There, Lipa opted for another Valentino gown and even more Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Overlaying a black bodysuit, the floor-length dress was made of sheer black lace with a hemline and train covered in feathers. The babydoll silhouette was accentuated by a subtle bow tied just above the waistline. Lipa’s look combined a few of the season’s biggest trends: sheer, feathers, and bows.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Lipa joined in on the sheer trend. It's actually one of her signature styles, and she even wore a white see-through look to a wedding in the past. Lipa has also given the black lace look some love before. Last year, she wore a black lace jumpsuit to watch one of her go-to brands, GCDS, show at Milan Fashion Week.
We're used to seeing Dua Lipa's signature minimalist style, but we’re not quite as accustomed to seeing her in embellishments like feathers and bows. She only just recently joined the bow trend with a Gucci look for the Argyle premiere after-party earlier this year. And the last time we saw her in feathers was when she recreated one of Cher’s iconic looks back in 2018 and when she did a performance for Saturday Night Live in 2020. Perhaps Dua Lipa has some new rules for her style in 2024? We sure hope so!
