East Coast Earthquake Gets Social Media Shaking

Yes, there was a 4.8 earthquake in New York City, with shocks reported from Maryland to Massachusetts.

On April 4, people on the East Coast were literally shook by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake — and then again a moment later by their phones and news feeds blowing up with, “Was that an earthquake?!” So yes, reader: It was.

The earthquake’s epicenter was reportedly in New Jersey, with reports of it being felt from Maryland to Massachusetts. The quake itself came a few days after a powerful 7.2 earthquake in Taiwan killed multiple people and left many injured.
