Last year, influencers and Internet stars flooded the Met Gala, with Addison Rae, Jackie Aina, NikkieTutorials, Emma Chamberlain, and more taking the carpet in September. This year's Met Gala also featured its fair share of influencers — and yes, Addison Rae was back for round two.
Below, find out which high-profile social media stars walked the red carpet, what designers they decided to wear, and most importantly, how they interpreted this year's theme: “In America: An Anthology of Fashion," or “gilded glamour.”
Addison Rae
Last year was Addison Rae's Met Gala debut, and she stepped out on the red carpet for the first time in 2003 Tom Ford. This year, Addison made a grand return in a glittering silver-to-black ombré Michael Kors halter dress with an open back.
The 21-year-old influencer, who has started the pivot from TikTok star to movie star, recently starred in 2021's gender-swapped reboot He's All That and is set to lead the upcoming feature film Fashionista — the plot is still heavily under wraps, but with two Met Galas now under her belt, Addison is getting some great on-the-ground experience to prep for the role.
Addison was also spotted in a jaw-dropping barely-there black sheer moment on the way to a Met Gala after party.
Emma Chamberlain
Emma Chamberlain was early to hit the red carpet this year, and was one of the first attendees to make an appearance on the Met steps. Emma served as carpet correspondent for Vogue again this year after interviewing stars along the steps in 2021. The YouTube starlet wore a Louis Vuitton two-piece ensemble, and was decorated with ornate Cartier jewelry and a tiara atop a platinum bob.
When asked how much she thinks her entire Met Gala outfit cost, the Louis Vuitton ambassador answered: “I have no idea… I don't want to know. A lot.”

The make-up artist and influencer received lots of praise online for her gala 'fit, especially from best friend and fellow TikToker Charli D'Amelio (the besties even have matching tattoos that they got with Olivia Rodrigo and Iris Apatow.)

Chiara Ferragni
Italian influencer and entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni and her husband, Italian rapper Fedez, attended the 2022 Met Gala wearing Versace. Leather gloves were everywhere at this year's event — Chiara's match the leather on the bodice of her dress. Chiara and Fedez both currently star in their own Amazon Prime Video reality series, The Ferragnez.

Léna Situations
L.A.-based French YouTuber Léna Mahfouf, also known as Léna Situations, also made her Met Gala debut this year. Her embroidered Markarian ball gown was a fan-favorite of the night, with many praising the influencer's take on the theme of gilded glamour. (Fun fact: in 2021, the 24-year-old vlogger was ranked in Forbes 30 Under 30 France, and is the first French influencer to land an invite at the Met Gala.)
