We've been anxiously awaiting the return all things Khaleesi and Jon Snow for a while now, so needless to say, we're pretty stoked to get a sneak peek at anything regarding the new Game of Thrones season. When we saw that the GoT characters were featured in a new spoof for HBO's iconic "Ahhhhh" intro (which promotes everything the network has to offer from Last Week Tonight host John Oliver to Veep's Julia Louis-Dreyfuss), we knew there were some clues to unearth.
Buried deep beneath this sneak peek is a fresh look at the new costumes for this season — and, perhaps, most importantly, a hint that Daenerys Targaryen may finally be crossing the sea to claim what's (IMHO) her's.? After all, she's ditched her airier, more ethereal style for heavier garments that are more suited for a trek up north. And while it's still all speculation, we're hoping this becomes a big storyline in the new season. Because if so, it's huge.
That said, the rest of the cast is still suited up in their expected garb, with Jon Snow in his signature furs, Cersei Lannister in her new crown, and Jaime Lannister with his gold hand. We also see several more of your favorite Game of Thrones faces, though we won't give anything else away.
Although we were teased with the season 7 trailer last week, it was only until HBO sneakily spliced its stars into the YouTube promo vids that it also gave us that coveted first look.
