We're just one week into fashion month, but two words nonetheless spring to mind when looking at this picture of Gigi Hadid: hard relate. The supermodel, who admittedly is yet to walk this season (save for an off-schedule appearance in a sculptural coat at Jacquemus last month), was photographed in New York wearing an outfit tantamount to sleepwear and slippers – a tantalizing prospect for any editors staring down the barrel of three more weeks of front rows, flights, and midnight fries.
Of course, we know Gigi loves loungewear. “I’m always the person who’s cold even when other people feel hot,” the 28-year-old told Vogue’s Chioma Nnadi a little over a year ago as she unveiled her knitwear brand Guest in Residence to the world. Her cozy cream separates are not a million miles from her own designs, while her brown leather biker jacket (one concession to more traditional daywear) is from the Scandi brand Holzweiler, and her faintly retro shades are by Vehla.
Snug as she looks, Gigi Hadid will likely have to swap those suede slip-on flats for something altogether less comfortable in the coming days as the Milan and Paris runways beckon for one of the most in-demand faces on the circuit. (She made a memorable appearance at Versace last season in a barely-there yellow sequined dress and heels.) The autumn/winter 2024 shows could see her stepping from the catwalk into the warm embrace of her new boyfriend, Bradley Cooper. Or failing that (he has the small matter of an Oscar nomination on his mind, after all), one of her Guest in Residence Baja striped cardigans.
