Pop Artist Girl Crush Wore a Gumball Dress to the 2017 Grammys

Not literally—but close.

The 2017 Grammys red carpet has, so far, been anything but boring: First, Joy Villa showed up in what appears to be a bedazzled, pro-Donald Trump gown. And then, pop artist Girl Crush stepped out in an ensemble featuring a sparkly, hot-pink bralette and a full skirt emblazoned with brightly colored, er, balls. As in gumballs.

The unforgettable statement gown immediately drew comparisons to jawbreakers, dots, and the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese — just to name a few. But we're personally partial to the gumball reference. And who, exactly, is the artist bold enough to wear such a loud, candy-esque gown? Girl Crush — not to be confused with the Little Big Town song by the same name — is a recording artist whose song "Pillz" went to No. 1 on the global dubstep charts, according to her personal website. She self-describes herself as "fun and fierce," which makes sense, considering this daring outfit choice. She's also a talented songwriter, having penned original music for Showtime, ABC, Comedy Central, and MTV.

Not surprisingly, the Internet went wild for the gumball gown — presumably because it looked good enough to eat.
