Gisou, the hair and skin care brand by Negin Mirsalehi, is known for buzz-worthy beauty products. Sourced from their own family bee garden under the care of Beekeeper-in-Chief Negar Mirsalehi, Mirsalehi Honey is the standout ingredient in their viral hair oils, hair perfume, lip oils and more. Just in time for spring, the Netherlands-based brand is launching their newest product; Gisou Tinted Honey-Infused Lip Oils.

In addition to Gisou’s signature honey, these brand new lip oils also contain jojoba and meadowfoam for lasting hydration and wear, and most notably, they’re tinted. They come in three fruit-inspired shades — Watermelon Sugar, Mango Passion Punch, and Strawberry Sorbet — which were decided on after the brand asked fans what scents they thought were most delicious and found these summer treats to be the most popular answers. Since bees give us so much, including flowers, fruits and even skin care products, Gisou is dedicating this new line to celebrate the start of bee season.

Since the Gisou Honey-Infused Lip Oil is a viral cult-favorite beauty product, expectations must be high for this new fruity tinted version. That’s why we’re here! The Teen Vogue editors know you want unbiased, informed reviews, so that you can spend your hard-earned money carefully. We put the Gisou Tinted Honey-Infused Lip Oils to the test and tried all three shades out on different skin tones and types. Scroll on to see photos and our unfiltered thoughts.

I think I just found my new go-to lippie. I think these Gisou Tinted Honey-Infused Lip Oils are perfect for everyday use because of their subtle color and gloss. They give you a nice touch of color but they’re not full-coverage, so you don’t have to worry about putting it on perfectly. Just swipe and go! Since the formula is on the thinner side, it's also very spreadable and a little goes a long way. Best of all, it has such a beautiful finish because you can tell that it’s just a thin layer of product with a lot of shine all over and a nice tint, so it almost has the look of stained glass or a fruity candy. The smell is light yet sweet, so nice but not overbearing!

Beyond aesthetics, I was also pretty pleased with the product's functionality. I find it to be very moisturizing, even as someone who struggles with very chapped lips a lot. It works quickly. After the first application, I felt relief, aside from the areas that were severely chapped and needed more time, but even then, the product covered up those areas quite well and reduced the appearance of dry spots. Throughout the day, the color did fade a bit after eating, drinking and using a napkin, but the gloss definitely lasted. By the end of the day, my lips weren’t chapped anymore and had a nice glow to them. I did reapply once mid-day, but it’s hard to miss this pretty bottle, so I could easily remember to put it in my bag and it doesn’t take much space. I was worried about breaking it because it seems to be glass, but I haven’t had any issues with it despite admittedly forgetting and being a little rough with it. Overall, I’m pleased with it! I have already recommended it to my own family and friends and now, you!

As soon as I laid eyes on the Gisou’s Watermelon Sugar Lip Oil, I fell in love. The pink shimmery hue is literally how I live my life (all things pink and sparkly…duh!). And I’m happy to say that the formula performs well, too. The first swipe across my lips left my skin feeling super soft. The gloss glides on effortlessly with a texture similar to butter. I also love that the shimmer flecks were more on the subtle side.

As for the flavor/scent? That gets a 10/10 for me. It smells so fruity and yummy and reminds me of those little watermelon candies I used to get at the deli as a little child. I did have to keep reapplying the oil throughout the day but that was totally fine for me! It performed well at keeping my lips smooth and chapped-free.

I wasn’t too familiar with Gisou before this Teen Vogue Tries, so I didn’t have any major expectations before jumping in. I will say I do love a lippie so any chance to find another potential favorite in my rolodex is always ideal. I was excited to try the tinted honey-infused lip oils because I normally am a lip gloss or balm girlie, so I wanted to see the major differences.

I first loved the applicator. Contrary to the masses, I love the semi-furry applicator. It glides on perfectly and feels great on my skin. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is that because it’s an oil, it doesn’t necessarily stick to my skin the way a gloss would, but it does leave it a lot more moisturized after a few wears. In the past I’ve worn several lip glosses that feel good while on the skin, but once the product fades my lips feel dryer than ever. With the lip oil, even after the product fades, my lips don’t feel severely dry. It’s an ideal product and it shines very similarly to a gloss, which is always top of mind for me.

I’m new to lip oils. So after trying these Gisou Honey-Infused tinted lip oils for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised by how hydrating, creamy and not sticky they are in comparison to lip glosses. These lip oils feel light and perfect for the days when I don’t want to wear heavy makeup (my everyday preference). The Mango Passion Punch’s peachy natural shade is my favorite and the scent is super yummy.  I prefer softer, and more subtle orange-y shades for the spring and immediately when I tried this, thought yup, this might become my new “go-to.”

I can’t see myself picking up Watermelon Sugar as it wasn’t my favorite scent, although the shade looked super natural and more like wearing a clear lip gloss. Strawberry Sorbet appears to be the far most pigmented of the three new shades, I was surprised by how it still looked super natural. The pigments of these three aren’t anything overbearing or too strong and enhance your natural lip color.
