On November 6, Halle Bailey and DDG's 10-month-old son Halo appeared on Kai Cenat's livestream, which The Little Mermaid star claimed was done without her knowing.

Baby Halo was shown on screen as part of Kai Cenat's Mafiathon 2 continuous livestream, a project that sees the streamer live for 30 days straight on Twitch throughout the month of November. Cenat has almost 14 million followers on the platform. A clip was also later uploaded to his YouTube channel, which boasts over 10 million followers. Halo appears in the clip with his father, DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.

Shortly after the clips started gaining attention online, Bailey took to her X account, which was momentarily deactivated, to denounce the inclusion of her child in the stream, claiming she was not asked for approval beforehand.

"Hi everyone. Just so you know I am out of town and I don't approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn't told or notified and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people," Bailey reportedly said in a post. “I am his mother and protector, and [I am] saddened that I wasn't notified, especially when I am out of town.”

Teen Vogue reached out to DDG and Halle Bailey reps for further comment but did not immediately hear back. However, on November 7, Bailey once again took to her X account to issue a statement on the matter, in which she apologized for her original reaction.

“Yesterday maybe I did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here,” she wrote. “I know that Halo is always safe with his dad. I just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing.” She finished off the post thanking Cenat “for the gifts for Halo.”

Likewise, DDG responded to and defended Bailey in a video posted to his YouTube account, referring to online reactions to Bailey's since-deleted tweets. “I don’t like when people hate on Halle,” DDG said in the video. “I don’t care if people think she wrong or not, or if I think she wrong or right.”

“She could be going through something mentally after having a kid that I can’t understand as a man,” DDG continued, “so when situations like this happen, I try to handle it with as much grace as possible because Halo needs her, I need her, we need each other to create a childhood that’s safe and fun and memorable for him." DDG also said he's “got unconditional love and respect” for Bailey and asked people to not pit them against each other.

Halle Bailey and DDG welcomed Halo in December 2023 after months of speculation. The duo then announced their split in early October 2024. "Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other," DDG shared in a statement at the time.

Last month, Bailey took to Snapchat to share she has "crippling anxiety without [her] son" and asked her followers for "advice for moms who still can't handle when they have to leave for work."
