If you are still obsessed with Halle Bailey's rendition of “Part of Your World” from Disney's live-action Little Mermaid, you are going to love this one. While the singer is not (yet) blessing us with new music of her own, she has just gifted us with a casual cover of Sabrina Carpenter's no. 1 hit track “Please Please Please.”
Like the rest of us, it looks like Halle Bailey can't stop thinking about “Please Please Please” for the past two months — a reminder, the song dropped on June 7, 2024, accompanied by a cinematic video fronted by Carpenter and her IRL beau Barry Keoghan — and thank God for that because it's what prompted the singer and actor to cover the song on her X account.
“Woke up with this song in my headed,” Halle captioned her post from July 23 including the video of her cover. “I love itt," she noted, adding a nerd face emoji for emphasis. In the video, we see Halle rocking a black bikini top adorned with a rhinestoned star and headphones, holding her guitar tightly as she breaks into the song's chorus.
Halle went for an acoustic version of the track, relying only on guitar strums and her honeyed vocals for her rendition of the song, which has a couple of added vocal riffs. You can see the video below:

Of course, people are loving Halle's take on the song. “The girlies should be scared when you cover a song! Your instrument is so angelic!” a user commented under the video. “HALLE MAKE SONGS LIKE THIS THEY SOUND SO GOOD ON YOU,” someone else pointed out. “We need you on the remix NOW,” a third one added — and, hey, that's honestly a great idea.
Halle Bailey, who welcomed her son Halo with DDG in late 2023, put out her debut solo single, “Angel,” on August 4, 2023, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song. Her second single, “In Your Hands,” came out on March 15, 2024, and it's, at the time of writing, her latest release.
However, judging by a picture posted right before her “Please Please Please” cover dropped, it does seem like she's back in the studio (with baby Halo as a faithful assistant), so we will be patiently awaiting more.
