It's time to summon your wands because we're heading back to Hogwarts for the enchanted release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. While the long-awaited "eighth book" containing the script for the London-based play will be released on July 31, the show creators are giving us muggles a spell-binding look into the happenings on stage with 20 stunning new images.
And before you reach for your remembrall, here's a quick reminder of the play's plot:
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child takes place 19 years after the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (picking up from the epilogue where Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione send their kids off on Platform 9 and 3/4). Harry is now an overworked Auror at the Ministry of Magic, dealing with his three rambunctious children. Meanwhile, his son, Albus, is dealing with being the heir to a magical legend. A Pottermore synopsis elaborates:
The play, which also examines a post-Voldemort world, will also strongly feature Draco Malfoy and his son Scorpius — who, by the looks of these pictures, didn't seem to inherit his dad's rivalry with the Potters.
And while the play wasn't officially penned by J.K. Rowling (Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany wrote it with guidance from Rowling), it is still sure to accio-up all those wizarding feels.
