Harry Styles is a prolific singer and songwriter, so it’s no surprise that the boy loves his music. Made in the A.M., One Direction’s fifth album, featured tons of influences from old-school artists, but that doesn’t mean that the singer can’t appreciate other top 40 hits as well. And while he’s collaborated with Ed Sheeran as part of 1D — Ed’s written a few songs for the group — it turns out he’s also returned the favor.
In a recent interview, [Harry] (http://www.teenvogue.com/gallery/harry-styles-one-direction-interview) was asked what his favorite song of all time would be, and his answer is a heart-melting story that comes just in time for the holidays. As it turns out, his favorite jam is not a 1D track, but a track from [Ed’s] (http://www.teenvogue.com/story/taylor-swift-ed-sheeran-squad) latest album, “Thinking Out Loud.” The reason? Well, it seems Harry was a bit involved with writing it, though in the most unexpected way possible.
“I’m gonna pick ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ Ed Sheeran. It’s a personal song for me,” he said on BBC Radio One. “A couple of Christmases ago, I actually bought Ed a guitar for Christmas. And this was one of the first songs that he wrote on it, so it’s one of my favorite Ed Sheeran songs.”

So yes, Harry Styles not only bought Ed Sheeran a guitar, but one of the first things Ed wrote on it was the song he is most well-known for. Talk about getting some good juju.
