Anyone who's been to a One Direction concert — or even just followed the boys on social media — knows that Harry Styles could have a very lucrative career as a stand-up comedian. The singer has made consistently hilarious Vines backstage for years, and he recently put his sister Gemma's date on blast in front of an audience of thousands. Not all of his jokes land, however — ones about Zayn are, sniff, still too soon — but last night, he proved yet again that no one is exempt from being a target.
While on the U.K. leg of their On the Road Again tour, Harry shouted out to the friends and family section of the venue. But maybe Gemma had enough of being in her little brother's crosshairs, because Harry decided to go after another beloved member of the 1D family — Karen Payne, a.k.a. Liam's mom, whom Harry thought wasn't enjoying the concert enough.
"Big friends and family section over there, who think that they're too good to stand up, you can boo them," he told the audience. "Yeah, I wanna hear you boo louder than that." He followed the admonishment with a very stern "I'm talking to you, Karen Payne. We know you can shake it," leaving no question as to whom he was referring.
Liam hasn't tweeted out his reaction to Harry's picking on his mom, but we're sure it was all in good fun. Just in case, though — Harry, please don't quit your day job.
