Yesterday, Donald Trump opted for his most (and possibly only) subtle attack on Hillary Clinton yet: a subtweet. "For those few people knocking me for tweeting at three o'clock in the morning," he wrote, "At least you know I will be there, awake, to answer the call!"
So, yeah, that's low-key fear-mongering combined with a continuation of his illogical Hillary-sleeps-a-lot joke, and Clinton and her team were ready for it. Instead of low-hanging jabs, or "delete your account" quote tweeting, she used the "three o'clock in the morning" dig to share a message about national service.
"It's 3:20am," Clinton wrote, beginning her series of tweets. "As good a time as any to tweet about national service."
"There are hundreds of thousands more @AmeriCorps applications than spots," she continued. And then, parroting his notorious syntax, "Horrible! Let's expand it from 75,000 annual members to 250,000."
