During its highly anticipated iPhone 7 announcement yesterday, Apple made one huge change official: It's officially killing the headphone jack.

While some people are excited to embrace a new era of wireless headphones, others are asking one major question. Since the iPhone only has one port to plug things into — like a charger or a Lightning connector for traditional headphones, how can we listen to music and charge at the same time?

Well, we have good and bad news. There is a way to charge and listen to music at the same time — but it's going to cost you.

The Verge reports that Apple has a $49 attachable lightning dock that will give you the ability to plug in your phone and your headphones at the same time.

That's right, after buying a brand new iPhone, you're going to have to spend another $49 to do a pretty basic task.

Apple said that it took "courage" to kill the headphone jack. But charging more for a basic function doesn't seem too courageous to us.

That said, Apple will soon release wireless headphones, or AirPods, to go with your new iPhone 7. Unfortunately, those aren't free either.
