Ice Spice loves the Y2K era so much that she named her forthcoming album after it — it's literally called Y2K! and it's definitely going to be one of the biggest releases of the summer.
But her music is not the only thing hinting at the 2000s — her style is also inspired by the aughts, as evidenced by her summer uniform of a crop top and mini shorts that would be right at home on TRL circa 2004.
Ice Spice showed off a few recent outfits in a new Instagram carousel, and we couldn't help but notice that she's very devoted to one outfit formula: a cropped top with matching itty bitty shorts. In the first pic, she poses in front of a red phone booth in London wearing a Britney Spears-esque denim-on-denim ‘fit, with a fitted zip-up jacket on top and matching short-shorts, styled with a big diamond butterfly necklace and very ’00s white grommet bag.

In another pic, she's swapped the white bag for a black version, but her crop top and shorts combo is still playing the starring role, this time in magenta pink. (The butterfly necklace got to stick around.)
Then, Ice Spice went more sultry with a deep purple lace set, wearing a super cropped lace-up top with long sleeves and matching teeny shorts paired with boots, the black bag, her butterfly necklace, and long mermaid waves. (She had already worn a yellow version of the 'fit, from I.AM.GIA, to perform at London's Wireless festival on July 12, 2024, and again in pink while performing with Travis Scott during his Utopia – Circus Maximus World Tour in the city the day before.)
To round off her outfit diary, Ice Spice also gave us a funny peek at her manicure, which was missing one of her signature duck French tips — it happens to the best of us! Y2K! drops on Friday, July 26, so if you're pumped for its release, why not celebrate in a similar summer set? Ice Spice would approve.
