Beloved Swedish furniture retailer IKEA is notorious for their inexpensive, simple, yet unbelievably utilitarian home decor. But forget the plain ol' MALM — the brand just debuted SPRIDD, an entirely new, limited edition collection that pop art lovers are going to love. Coming in February 2017, the SPRIDD collection is "designed to move, inspired by today’s nomadic youth, created for the 'young in spirit,'" according to a press release.
SPRIDD is a collaboration with British fashion designer Kit Neale and includes items such as tents, bags, storage boxes, and more in bold prints, bright colors, and wacky details. All of the designs were inspired by different musical styles. Celebrating "youth culture and self-expression," the collection drew particular inspiration from music festivals, so these are must-haves for you're next camping trip or trek to Firefly.
It's not just about the stuff, though. In a departure from traditional IKEA, the SPRIDD collection also offers clothing, including bright graphic tees.
"Whether it’s living in a smaller space or moving to new spaces frequently, for these fiercely independent individuals, it’s not about having more — it’s about choosing things to help you make the most out of life," said Janice Simonsen, IKEA Design Spokesperson, in a statement. "We are excited to offer these new collections which are designed to free you up without weighing you down!"
