Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley are reportedly separated after a nearly three-year marriage that sparked several pieces of pop culture, including a Lana Del Rey song.
News of the split comes via People, who reported that the music producer and actor have separated after what a source calls a “rocky” relationship. Another (also unnamed) source told the publication that the pair were “figuring things out." The couple themselves have not made a public statement, nor have their reps, but fans did notice that Qualley was noticeably absent from Taylor Swift's recent wedding weekend activities. Antonoff, meanwhile, attended the pre-wedding event with his sister, designer Rachel Antonoff.
Antonoff and Qualley started dating in late 2021 and got engaged in 2022, tying the knot in 2023. (Swift attended their wedding and her fans swarmed the New Jersey setting, leading to criticism regarding invasive fan behavior.) Their romance was the subject of a song by friend Lana Del Rey, who often works with Antonoff, called “Margaret," with lyrics like “He met Margaret on our rooftop, she was wearing white/And he was like, ‘I might be in trouble’/He had flashes of the good life.”
The lyrics affirm something Antonoff previously said about meeting Qualley; he told Howard Stern that “When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.” The pair settled in New Jersey and New York City with their dog Smokey.
Prior to his relationship with Qualley, Antonoff dated Lena Dunham for five years—a relationship Dunham chronicled in her recent book Famesick—and the former couple were both present at the Swift-Kelce wedding.
People noted that reps for Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have not responded to request for comment. A few publications also noticed that Qualley has removed her wedding photos and other images of Antonoff from her Instagram profile.
