Jennie Kim's Latest OOTD Is a Masterclass in Spicing Up a Tonal Look

It's monochrome…ish.

There's something so stylish and cool about a monochrome outfit, but wearing all one color all the time can get a little boring. Not if you're Jennie Kim, however! The BLACKPINK band member just showed us how to spice up a tone-on-tone outfit by incorporating lots of interesting textures.

The outfit in question appears in Jennie's latest Instagram photo dump. In the pics, she's wearing all beige, but kept the look from feeling bland or stale by mixing up tones and textures with each piece. The look begins with a varsity jacket with black-and-white-striped cuffs, which Jennie wore over a pair of loose-fitting pants with a washed-out, almost tie-dye pattern in similar — but not 100% matching~ — shades of beige and faded black.

Accessory-wise, she wore a black hat, gloves, and black boots, though if you scroll further through the carousel, you'll see she ditched the varsity jacket in favor of a black floral sweatshirt.

When she snapped the OOTD, Jennie was hanging out outside and roasting marshmallows by a bonfire, and her beige-and-black 'fit is a cute way to bundle up without being blah or boring. The touches of black give it an edge, and the different textures, like the wooly fabric of the varsity jacket and flowy pants, give your eye something to explore.

Jennie has been turning out look after look lately, especially casual outfits. Her leopard print jeans, which she wore to grab a slice of pizza, would work well to mix up a monochrome ensemble, and her cozy jeans-and-a-sweatshirt look is perfect for the transition from fall to winter. If you prefer something a little more festive, she's got you there too! Her recent silver minidress, paired with thigh-high stockings and Christian Louboutin heels, is a coquettish way to do the holidays. What can we say? It's Jennie Kim's world and we are lucky to be living in it!
