The Jonas Brothers might have been busy with their Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour for the past couple of years, but Joe Jonas has also made sure to schedule some solo shows in between and, of course, prepped some hidden gems for the ocassion. Case in point: a cover of Addison Rae's “Diet Pepsi.”
On October 12, 2024, Joe Jonas held an intimate solo concert at the Alhambra Theatre in Paris, France, to support his upcoming album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, and also sprinkled in a cover of Addison Rae's “Diet Pepsi" for good measure.
Rae's song, which came out in August, has been making the rounds on social media ever since, serving as the soundtrack for fancams and OOTDs galore. Rae recently debuted the song live during the Madison Square Garden stop of Charli XCX and Troye Sivan's Sweat Tour, and it's since been thriving on the cover scene, with the likes of Camila Cabello and now Joe Jonas trying their hand at it.
Though Jonas's cover was filmed on October 12 and had been making the rounds via dedicated fan pages, it wasn't until October 22 that the singer decided to delight us all with a taste of it on his official TikTok account. Joe Jonas uploaded a snippet of the cover — the chorus, to be exact —with a simple soda emoji and tagged Rae. In the video, he serenades the crowd with the NSFW lyrics.

Of course, the comment section loved Jonas's take on the song, which featured a live band and a funkier arrangement, and did not hesitate to point that out in the comments. “Joe the ‘cover slay king’...amazing vocals,” a fan commented. “u [sic] singing this hits so different,” someone else added. “Do you do weddings?” a third one quipped.
According to fans who attended the Paris show, “Diet Pepsi” was not the only cover Joe Jonas performed during the night; the singer also delighted fans with a rendition of “Dreams” by The Cranberries, which he's also performed on tour with his brothers.
Jonas also used the evening to preview some unreleased tracks believed to be taken from Music for People Who Believe in Love, which does not yet have an official release date. The singer played the album's previously released singles “Work It Out” and “What This Could Be," the latter having its official live debut, which, much like the “Diet Pepsi” cover, also made Jonas's main grid.
