Julez Smith is taking fans way back with some sweet throwback photos with his mom, Solange, and his aunt Beyoncé.
In honor of Mother's Day, Smith blessed our timeline by sharing some sweet, probably-never-before-seen photos of all the women in his life. On May 11, Smith posted pictures on his Instagram Stories — the first being Solange holding a baby Julez from years ago. The sweet photo shows a younger Solange as a new mom, who had Julez in 2004. Solange's curly, dark hair hung low down to her shoulders and she wore a frilly white top and dark makeup.
The second photo Smith shared was of Aunt Bey, who is shown holding him as a toddler. Beyoncé has a big smile on her face in the photo and is wearing a gold minidress with embellished rings. Smith looks adorable in his orange t-shirt and baby Pumas.
For the third photo, Smith shared a more recent photo with his grandma, Tina Knowles. The two are standing side-by-side at the Los Angeles premiere of Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé in November 2023. Smith is shown wearing a tuxedo without a tie, while Knowles is wearing a chic long-sleeved dress, adorned with jewels on the forearms.
Julez Smith has been outspoken about his closeness with Solange, Beyoncé, and Tina; all three of which have supported Smith on the runway and beyond. Smith recently walked in the New York City runway production, “Black Hair Reimagined: The New Era of Beauty,” while Solange sat in the audience cheering him on. Beyoncé also joined her family last February in Brooklyn for Smith's runway debut for New York-based designer Luar.
Speaking about his grandma, Tina Knowles, in a Teen Vogue story, Smith spoke of their relationship, calling her “my dog.”
“She taught me how to be a young man. She taught me the rules of the house,” Smith continued. “She taught me how to be a man of the house. She taught me how to respect others and everything, and she keeps me up on my fly, too.”
