Justin Bieber just embraced one of this year's biggest footwear trends, but it's probably not what you think.
The Mary Jane shoe has had quite the comeback, potentially due to the resurgence of all things 2010s and “indie sleaze." The flats were a key element of many indie and “twee” looks, and modern stars like Olivia Rodrigo have embraced them in a big way. And so has one Justin Drew Bieber, who was spotted in New York rocking a pair of leather Mary Janes.
Justin Bieber, who is always unafraid to wear what he wants, when he wants, like full chest-out shirts at the Super Bowl or outfits that are the complete opposite of his wife Hailey's, was all about a specific pair of T-strap Mary Janes similar to the ones Rodrigo can't get enough of.
While Rodrigo loves Doc Martens, Vogue reports that Bieber's exact shoe comes courtesy of Danish brand Vinny's. The dad-to-be wore the flat, espresso brown T-straps several times during his NYC visit, including a breezy, summery look of pale blue shorts and a butter yellow shirt, plus white socks, a backward baseball cap, and orange sunglasses. Later, he paired them with khaki pleated pants, a black polo shirt, and a green baseball cap for a business casual vibe.
If you thought Bieber was just taking the Mary Janes for a brief spin, think again. The shoes popped up again in another outfit during the trip — we told you he can't get enough of them! — with Bieber wearing a camel-colored sweater, baggy white basketball shorts, socks, and his fave Mary Janes in a truly unconventional combo.
