Hailey Bieber is officially showing her support for Kamala Harris's presidential run by wearing exclusive merch from a designer capsule collection. More than a dozen American designers have come together to create shirts, hoodies, bags, and more for the Democratic nominee.
Officially titled Designers for Democracy, the wide-ranging collection launched on August 15 and features pieces from top fashion houses including Vera Wang, Thom Browne, Prabal Gurung, Tory Burch, and more. The collection is manufactured in the U.S., according to Vogue, and all pieces are priced under $50.
“Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz are fighting for a future that strengthens our democracy, protects reproductive freedom, and ensures every person has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead,” Senior Campaign Advisor Meaghan Burdick told Vogue. “The Designers for Democracy are a group of beloved American designers who believe in that vision and are working to get Harris and Walz to the White House.”
The collection has already attracted some notable celebrities including Hailey Bieber, who posed for a mirror selfie (pregnant belly and all) wearing the “America is an Idea” retro t-shirt designed by Brother Vellies creative director Aurora James. The designer also created a pair of socks that say “Reproductive Freedom” with hearts on them.

James shared her items on Instagram along with a lengthy caption explaining her mindset behind “America is an Idea.”
“America is a beautiful, strange and bountiful place. America is also an idea. And exactly whose idea she is, will be voted on up and down the ballot all across the country this November,” James wrote. “For too long people that look like me were made to feel that we didn’t belong here. But America belongs to all of us, equally. And we belong to her too. She is our home, she is our heart, she is our idea.”

Only five of the 16 designers who have created pieces for the 2024 Democratic party are new to the election merch game — including Ulla Johnson, Sergio Hudson, Willy Chavarria, Rachel Scott, and Bettina Benson. Brett Heyman, Vera Wang, and Joseph Altuzurra have all returned to support Harris's campaign after creating items for President Joe Biden's run in 2020.
When Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential election and officially endorsed Kamala Harris, many notable brands, celebrities, and top Democrats followed suit. The vice president's team has been on the cutting edge of campaigning — creating memes, TikToks, and camo hats that sold nearly $2 million in sales within days of release.
The Designers for Democracy collection includes a wide range of products and styles including a tote bag from Tory Burch, an ombre baseball hat from Gabriella Hearst, an American flag scarf from Thom Browne, a Victor Glemaud tank top that says “We are not going back,” and other items. According to the Harris/ Walz campaign website, more products are expected to be added to the collection.
