In light of COVID-19, we’re checking in on our favorite celebrities in My Self-Quarantined Life, a series on what their daily lives look like while social distancing.

Scanning her phone for notifications isn’t something Karrueche Tran has being doing while at home. The actress and model has actually been more inclined to read books on spiritual vitality and meditate. “I’ve been keeping a daily morning routine of yoga and meditation,” Karrueche tells Teen Vogue.

“Sometimes I find myself feeling anxious, overthinking about what’s happening in our world so I’ve also been working on my breathing and mindfulness. I’ve been trying to stay off of my phone as much as possible. It’s like second nature for me to just grab my phone and start scrolling and it has got to stop! Too much social media will fry my brain.”

When she’s not sitting in peaceful silence, the Claws star is hanging out with her mother and brother, who she’s been social distancing with in Los Angeles. “I’ve learned that I love and miss having my own space,” the 32-year-old says. “However, it is nice and refreshing to have them here with me knowing that we’re all safe together.”

She’s also not in a huge rush to go to restaurants and clubs when social distancing is lifted. In fact, Karrueche plans on slowly transitioning into regular life — even if that means not seeing all of her friends immediately. “As much as I’d like to go out and be with my friends after this quarantine, I’m not so sure that that’s a smart idea,” she says. “I feel like there will still be some cases of the virus that could possibly continue to spread. I’ll probably do in-home friend gatherings opposed to being out in public places (restaurants, bars, clubs, etc).”

Like her character Virginia on Claws, Karrueche is actually really excited about going to one place in particular. “I can’t wait to get my nails and hair done but that might have to wait a bit,” she admits. “I hope that after this quarantine people understand the importance of sanitation. I will forever keep hand sanitizer and hand wipes with me ALWAYS!”
