Keke Palmer jetted off to Brazil and Argentina for an end-of-summer vacation and, judging from her Instagram photo dump, had an amazing time seeing the sights with her son Leodis. But what really caught our eye in one specific pic was her choice of hair accessory, which sent us back to the 2000s in the best way.
In the photo, Palmer is enjoying a delicious crepe, which she said “has no business upstaging France crepes like this.” She's wearing a colorful printed sleeveless dress with her hair down, and placed atop her head is a claw headband similar to those worn in the late ‘90s and early ’00s.
It's not a full accordion-style headband like those favored by Bella Hadid, the undisputed queen of Y2K fashion, but definitely a close relative of that headband style, what with its claw shape. Palmer's headband was a classic tortoiseshell pattern, and she styled the rest of her look with gold hoops, a “Pray” necklace, and a shell pink manicure.
The headband wasn't the only classic throwback hair accessory Palmer wore during the trip. While soaking up the sun on a catamaran, Palmer pulled half of her hair back and away from her face with a claw clip — one of the most versatile hair accessories of all time, if you ask us. (And Bella Hadid, of course.) The claw clip popped up again in another picture of Palmer and baby Leo on a hike, with Palmer wearing a sporty red and black Nike shorts bodysuit.
The mother-son duo was busy enjoying everything Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires have to offer, from boat days to visiting major landmarks. “I'm so happy I took a break! The start of my 3rd decade has been all about self mastery and I cannot be my best self if I am ignoring all I need,” Palmer wrote of the trip. “Which is not just getting to the bag but knowing that the bag will be there and to fill my cup with timeless moments like this. That's what makes purpose and intention, CLEAR!” If we could steal a celebrity's vacation, this one would definitely be at the top of our list.
