Keke Palmer Stars in Usher's "Boyfriend" MV With a Joke About Her Ex Darius Jackson

The cleverness is off the charts.

Some bad things in life happen for the best, and Keke Palmer's baby daddy Darius Jackson shaming her for the stunning 'fit she wore to Usher's Las Vegas residency is perhaps one of them. The regrettable situation has come full circle and is culminating with Palmer starring in the music video for Usher's new song, which, not so coincidentally, is named “Boyfriend.”

Keke Palmer takes center stage in the music video for "Boyfriend." The video kicks off with Palmer getting ready to go out sporting some blue highlights on her hair, which she debuted prior to the music video's release with a Teen Vogue reference. In some close-ups, she perfectly lip-syncs to Usher's verses: “Somebody said that your boyfriend's looking for me, oh that's cool, that's cool / Well he should know I'm pretty easy to find / Just look for me wherever he sees you.”

In the following snippets, we see Palmer and her friends ready to hit the town in Vegas, complete with an impromptu cover of Usher's 2001 jam "U Remind Me" inside an elevator. In the end, Palmer and Usher finally link up in matching 'fits to bust out some moves. The real kicker comes with the closer: Palmer wakes up in bed, still in her getting-ready gear listening to Usher. "What time is it?" she immediately questions when she answers the phone. "Dammit, I missed the show. Sh... I'm so tired. I'm a mother… after all," she says with a wink, echoing Jackson's tweets.

Though Palmer has not addressed the Darius Jackson debacle explicitly, her every move since the situation unfolded seems to be a big hint of how she feels, and the "Boyfriend" music video is but the cherry on top. For the past month, Palmer has been even more unapologetically proud to be a mother, and she's making sure the world knows about it. Back in July, during an appearance at Broccoli City Fest, the multi-hyphenate changed up the lyrics of her 2018 track "Bossy" to shout out her son Leodis.

"One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!" she also wrote on her Instagram. "To all my mom's out there, how did your baby change you?? Mine empowered me! On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good, I'm GREAT! Look at that face! Gratitude galore."

We love seeing this mama thrive!
