Kim Kardashian Gave Women Career Advice, and The Internet Hates It

Kim Kardashian has broken the Internet once again, this time for sharing career advice for women that most women didn't ask for. 

As a part of the Kardashian family's latest cover story for Variety, the reality show stars discussed their upcoming Hulu series, their relationships to privacy, and of course, what it takes to run a business like the Kardashian-Jenner machine. In a now viral clip from Variety's video interviews with the family, Kim offered up what she claims is “the best advice for women in business."

“Get your f***ing a** up and work," Kim says bluntly. “It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

“That's so true,” Kourtney chimes in, while Khloe nods in the background.

“You have to surround yourself with people that want to work," Kim continues. "Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do, because you have one life. No toxic work environments, and show up and do the work.”

Now, Kim is being slammed across social media platforms for her hot career take, advice rooted in financial privilege that many are calling insensitive, “tone deaf," “ignorant,” and frankly, rude. Dozens of Twitter users have pointed out that Kim's comments were made amid an ongoing global health crisis, one that, over the past two years, has severely impacted women in both school and the workforce. 

Never mind the fact that, Kim, there’s literally people that are dying.

“Over the last 2 years, women have been sidelined from work they'd like to get back to b/c of caregiving responsibilities and objectionable working conditions (including a lack of PTO, child care, flexible + predictable work scheduling). And yet,” tweeted Washington Post reporter Anne Branigin.

While many are up in arms over Kim's comments, others are expressing their frustrations through memes — and besides getting our a**es up to work, what else can we do but laugh?
