Riverdale star KJ Apa and girlfriend Clara Berry are expecting their first child!
The actor and model announced the news themselves on May 19. First, KJ posted a caption-less picture to his Instagram of the pair lounging on a sofa, showing what appeared to be Clara’s pregnant belly.

Clara later confirmed the news by posting part of her full maternity photoshoot, shot by fellow Riverdale actor Hart Denton, to her Instagram account, tagging KJ on her belly. To further indicate that she is indeed “cooking” something she captioned her post with a chef emoji. “She’s pregnant btw,” KJ commented on Clara’s post, just in case there were any doubts still.

Plenty of Riverdale costars – including Lili Reinhart, Charles Melton, Madelaine Petsch, Camila Mendes, and Hayley Law – left congratulatory messages for the expecting couple under both of their posts. “River’s soon to be bestie,” Vanessa Morgan, who plays Toni Topaz in the show commented. (Vanessa welcomed her first son River in January). Hart posted more pics from the maternity shoot as well as KJ and Clara to to his Instagram account with a caption that read: “surrounded by life and love.”

Clara and KJ have been in a relationship for over a year. KJ first confirmed they were indeed a romantic item back in February 2020, when he posted a since-deleted picture of the two sharing a kiss to his Instagram. Since then, they have appeared on each other’s feeds multiple times and now they are embarking on a whole new adventure together! Congrats!
