HUNTR/X came to life at Oscars 2026 when the cast of Kpop Demon Hunters performed “Golden” to celebrate the movie at the storied awards ceremony.
EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami took the stage for the hit, accompanied by traditional dancers and drummers. The three stars wore coordinating white fits, while the audience was filled with K-pop lightsticks to fully bring art to life. And let's just say the mics were on—they killed it.
Kpop Demon Hunters was nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song ("Golden") at the Oscars, and it won in both categories. Director Maggie Kang said in her acceptance speech, “This is for Korea.” In in EJAE's speech for Best Original Song, EJAE talked about how she was made fun of for liking K-pop when she was growing up. "This award is not about success it’s about resilience,” she said.
On the carpet, actor Ken Jeong talked about what a moment the success of the film is for pop culture. “It's one of those moments,” he said. "It reminds me of Crazy Rich Asians where I'm happier for everybody else more than myself. It's just this collective. It's one of the most beautiful things I've been a part of."
