Kylie Jenner is back where she belongs: Paris Couture Week. And this time, she’s leaning into a popular Y2K trend that you just might’ve missed if you just look quickly.
Before taking her front-row seat next to BLACKPINK's Jennie at the spring-summer 2025 Chanel Couture show, the popular reality television star posed for photographers wearing a cheeky golden anklet from the luxury brand.
The double-wrapped styling of the anklet, with the Chanel logo dangling above her black Chanel heels, was the perfect touch to complete her look, which focused on a white matching tweed set, a modern take on the brand’s most notable fabric and silhouette.
Adding to the modern take, Jenner's set featured a cropped jacket that also showed off her midriff, showing us that, clearly, the current winter weather in Paris does not seem to bother the 27-year-old. She finished off the look with a black purse and black sunglasses that even the paparazzi couldn’t get her to take off because, of course, they were a part of the look.
While Jenner's full fashion moment was a treat, we couldn’t stop staring at the Chanel anklet. Though prevalent throughout history in multiple cultures, the anklet permeated the pop culture zeitgeist as a major accessory in Y2K fashion — it was an early 2000s staple that gave into the playful aesthetic Gen Z has come to know and love. It was often paired with low-rise jeans, crop tops, and flip-flops, so seeing it on a more dressed-up moment via Jenner is a fun way to style the jewelry moment.
Popularized by celebrities like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, anklets were seen as a way to add a touch of shine to casual outfits, often adorned with charms, beads, or metallic elements. While we all probably cannot purchase a Chanel anklet, this is serving us up some great inspo as the warmer months get closer and we wouldn't expect less from Kylie Jenner, who has cemented herself as a Gen Z fashion icon.
Couture Week has notably become Jenner's sartorial playground. We were even shocked not to see her at the Schiaparelli Paris show the day before Chanel. Jenner has previously attended in many lavish looks, including her very memorable realistic lion head dress. So, with her attendance at Chanel, we can assume she might be entering into a new fashion era that will surely be exciting — mixing her more modern take on fashion with a timeless brand like Chanel.
