Kylie Jenner is all about leather these days. While the reality star and Kylie Cosmetics founder has always loved a shiny leather or latex look, with the launch of her clothing line Khy, she's gone full-on leather-on-leather — including on the red carpet.
Jenner traveled to New York City for the 2023 Wall Street Journal Magazine Innovator Awards at the Museum of Modern Art, where she was honored with the Brand Innovator Award. For the event, Jenner donned a deep brown strapless column gown by Ferragamo with a shiny, form-fitting leatherette corset bodice, a circular hip cutout detail and a slinky skirt with a short train. A little glam, a little edgy and very Kylie indeed.
Sure, the gown in question wasn't by Khy the brand, but it certainly fits the vibe of her first drop, which was comprised of faux-leather trenches, minidresses and strapless leather dresses, plus easy base layers. (The brand hasn't moved into formal gowns quiiiite yet, but you never know!) The gown also feels very true to Jenner's signature style, given that she's frequently spotted wearing latex pieces.
She styled it with minimal accessories, just strappy heels and earrings, to keep all focus on the dress. As for her glam, Jenner opted for her current go-to look of loose, tousled curls, glowy makeup with rose lips and a short, chic cherry mocha manicure.
“What a night. Thank you @wsjmag for the award and honor tonight of being this years brand innovator and for recognizing Khy,” Jenner wrote on Instagram after the ceremony, posing for pics clutching a big bouquet of red roses. (Could they be from beau Timothée Chalamet, who was also in attendance at the event?)
Jenner also happened to wear Ferragamo the very first time she shared Khy. She wore red pumps from the Italian luxury label with her faux leather jacket in the picture she used to soft launch the brand on Instagram. It could be coincidence, but we can't help but wonder if she's possibly dropping hints about Khy's next collaboration.
In the meantime, the brand is already taking off. Khy has barely launched and it's already winning awards, but then again, we'd expect nothing less from King Kylie.
