As a performer at the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Paris earlier this week (watch the fabulous pink-filled set here), Lady Gaga is currently in sporty mode. The star even attended the gymnastics and swimming Olympic events on July 28, 2024, inserting herself into the middle of the action by cheering on her favorite athletes from the crowd. And sure, her Team USA pullover was thematic given the setting — but her death-defying shoes were 100 percent Gaga-oh-la-la.
True Gaga fans will know that the superstar has been wearing her staggering platform shoes for years — often the same 10-inch pairs made by Pleaser. Gaga has worn the staggering heels everywhere, from her on-stage performances to casual nights out in the city. (This is someone who even once went hiking in heels, after all.)
There is something especially entrancing, however, about seeing her pair them with leggings and an athletic zip-up — almost as though this is her version of athleisure. What, did you really expect the Lady Gaga to step out in a sneaker? No way — this is Mother Monster in her fullest form. Put your paws up!
