Lana Condor is officially married!
The To All The Boys I've Loved Before actor tied the knot with actor and musician Anthony De La Torre at the end of October in a serene ceremony at Serra Franciscan Retreat Center in Malibu, California. Condor spoke with Vogue about the gorgeous but casual wedding in the West Coast beach town, saying that it was a special location to her and a “core memory” with her mom. Condor spent time at the center with her late mother as a teenager for a spiritual retreat.
“My mother Mary recently passed away, leaving my entire family devastated,” Condor said. “We really wanted to get married at the Serra Retreat because being there was such a core memory that I had with my mom, and I felt like we would be able to feel her presence on our wedding night.”
Condor and De La Torre first met at an Emmys party in 2015 — before she became a well-known actor in the Netflix romance films. “We were both there alone and saw each other from across the room… And that was that,” Condor told Vogue.
The pair got engaged in 2021 during a vacation in Mexico, but the grand proposal that De La Torre had planned didn't pan out after they had both gotten sick. While recovering in their hotel room, Condor said that De La Torre instead decorated their hotel room balcony and surprised her with a proposal there.
“I was so shocked and surprised, and he bent down and said, ‘This isn’t how I was planning to do this. But it feels so fitting to our relationship that we always can adjust and be flexible when things don’t go perfectly to plan,'” she continued.
Condor wore a Vera Wang gown during the ceremony and said that she was able to pick out the dress with her mom before she passed. “That was the only time she was able to see me in my dress, and I will hold that memory in my heart forever,” Condor said.
The strapless white gown was corseted and featured a long satin train. She paired the dress with pearl-encrusted Jimmy Choo heels and heirlooms from her mother's collection.
Lana Condor and her new husband then finished the weekend with an intimate brunch at their home, where they hired a tattoo artist to give the newlyweds tattoos of their wedding date.
