Although every day is the perfect chance to spotlight their work and contributions, to honor Latinx and Hispanic Heritage Month, Teen Vogue rounded up 15 Latinx and Hispanic designers, beauty entrepreneurs, and stars adding representation to the fashion and beauty scenes. Celebrated between September 15 and October 15, this annual commemoration pays tribute to the varied stories and cultures across Hispanic and Latinx communities.

Amplifying diversity from the beauty flanks was one of Becky G's top priorities when creating her cosmetics brand Treslúce. Teen Vogue's September cover star launched the beauty label last year and has been catering to people of all complexions with products infused in Latinidad.

Catering to some of the biggest stars in Latin America and the world, Jonathan Morales and his fashion brand NONAME are focused on elevating fashion to pop culture territory. Among the names sporting his quirky designs are Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, and BLACKPINK members Rosé and Lisa.

The most streamed artist of 2021 on Spotify, singer, rapper, and actor Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — better known as Bad Bunny — is arguably the boldest dresser Puerto Rico has birthed in years. With an unapologetic approach to fashion that has earned him global acclaim, Bad Bunny is the perfect amount of style icon, trendsetter, and someone who’s never afraid to think outside the box when it comes to fashion.

Loved by celebrities like Harry Styles and Måneskin, Spanish designer Arturo Obegero is a rising fashion star. After launching his namesake brand in 2020, the Central Saint Martins alumnus has steadily made a name for himself with his haute couture-infused designs. Always in for a fashion statement, in his latest collection, Obegero sent a love letter to his hometown Tapia de Casariego, endangered by gold mining activities.
Babba Canales Rivera
Previously featured on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list, marketing and advertising master Babba Canales Rivera is also a force to be reckoned with in the beauty industry. Founder of the clean hair care brand Ceremonia, the entrepreneur used her Latin American heritage as an inspiration to create products that tap on traditional cosmetic secrets and rituals.
Danna Paola
Mexican star Danna Paola needs no introduction. In addition to her acting chops and musical hits, the former Élite star has cemented a place among the world’s fashionistas. Her trendy wardrobe often features the coolest brands in the Mexican landscape, but Danna’s resumé also includes a groundbreaking association with Fendi. Last December, the singer became the first-ever Mexican ambassador of the Italian house.

Afro-Dominicana artist and photographer Dawn Marie West is the founder of niche fragrance brand La Boticá. Sourcing directly from South American countries, La Boticá mixes contemporary minimalism with Latin American culture. The brand offers fragrances, body care, and self-care products that integrate spiritual indigenous traditions and ingredients.
Kali Uchis
Seeing her breakthrough with the viral single “Telepatía,” Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis has proven that the scope of her influence goes beyond music. A free-spirited and fashion-forward individual, the star not only impresses with her distinct aesthetics. She has also taken her style affinities to the retail industry with the clothing line “BODIED by UCHIS,” which features Colombian levanta cola (butt-lifting) denim.
Paula Mendoza
Born and raised in Bogotá, Paula Mendoza has contributed to uplifting the craftsmanship of Colombian artisans with her sculptural jewelry designs. An alumn of Corcoran Art Institute, the designer has built a star-studded clientele that includes the likes of Beyoncé, Zendaya, and Rosalía. Recently, Paula partnered with J.Crew for a limited-edition jewelry collection.

Growing up in a Dominican family, Brooklyn native Raúl López is making waves with his affordable luxury brand Luar, which he set up after co-founding Hood By Air. Nominated for the 2022 American Accessory Designer of the Year Award, López recently made it to TIME100 Next list. If the name doesn’t ring a bell yet, Raul López is the mastermind behind the Ana Bag, the latest it-bag sported by Dua Lipa, Troy Sivan, Charli XCX and more.

Singer, actress, producer, and now beauty guru too, Selena Gomez launched her cosmetics brand Rare Beauty in 2020. At the core of the label’s TikTok viral beauty products is the idea of rethinking beauty standards and delivering cosmetics that everyone can use.

Chilean fashion designer Sebastián Albornoz de Ruffray is the founder of the independent, sustainable fashion brand SEVALI. A favorite among fashion enthusiasts, Mexican-American designer Willy Chavarria has long been creating well-informed collections that speak of his Chicano upbringing and Latinx roots. In 2021, the designer’s idiosyncratic approach to streetwear earned him a nomination for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Prize. The creative currently holds the position of Senior Vice President at Calvin Klein.
