What is going on with concert-goers these days? Latto is the latest musician to deal with fans throwing something at her while onstage, and it's safe to say: she handled it.
As noted by Billboard, Latto was performing at the Rolling Loud festival in Munich, Germany this past weekend when an object was thrown onstage by a fan during her hit song "Put it on Da Floor." Ignoring the lyrics, she directly called out the culprit mid-song to the beat of the track. “You want your ass beat? Throw it again,” she said, not mincing her words. “Throw it again, I'mma beat your ass."
Fans have been tossing lightweight items, like bras, flags, and stuffed animals, at artists for years. Feather boas are particularly popular at Harry Styles shows. However, this trend has taken a turn for the worse, and the disturbing uptick in incidents have turned violent. Bebe Rexha had to get stitches after a fan threw a phone at her face to be “funny,” and Harry Styles, Ava Max, Kelsea Ballerini, and Drake have all also recently dealt with being forcefully pelted with flying objects while trying to do their jobs.

Billboard noted that Adele recently addressed the trend while onstage at her Las Vegas residency, saying, “Have you noticed how people are, like, forgetting f*cking show etiquette at the moment, people are throwing shit on stage? Have you seen that?” The musician then grabbed a T-shirt gun as a prop and warned, "F*cking dare you. I dare you to throw something at me.”
It goes without saying that this behavior is absolutely abhorrent. Concerts should be fun and safe for everyone, artists included. Hopefully now that more stars are speaking out about it — not to mention threatening potential action — the trend will die out fast.
