Lizzo is truly the fairy godmother of TikTok. The “Rumors” singer just granted an amazing wish, literally providing the gown for a young author to wear to the ball. Glass slipper not needed!

Aurielle Marie, a queer writer who uses “they” and “she” pronouns, recently got the honor of a lifetime when they were named one of the Out 100 LGBTQ+ Literary and Publishing stars. As the essayist and poet explains in a now-viral TikTok, there's nothing they want more than to go to New York to accept the award at a gala event…but fashion being what it sadly is, they can't find the perfect dress to wear. Given that Marie and Lizzo have similar body types, the author then makes a small request: to borrow the singer's dress from the 2022 Emmys.

Well, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. That first TikTok went up on October 27, and on November 15, Marie posted an update: Lizzo sent a dress!

It's not the 2022 Emmys dress, it's her dress from the 2019 American Music Awards (both are warm-hued tulle), and just watch Marie's thrilled reaction when they put it on.

On TikTok, Marie revealed that the dress arrived a mere 20 minutes before their flight to New York. Talk about “About Damn Time.”

They also used the platform to address an often-debated part of the discussion around Lizzo: how do we celebrate her as one of the few positive examples of a fat person in pop culture without reducing her to her size? For Marie, it's just about the inspiration. “I'm a fat person, writing and speaking about how I navigate the world's fatphobia, and how a fat person I admire has encouraged me to continue doing that.”

Seriously, we love that this story has a happy ending, but fat people shouldn't have to beg celebrities for clothes because brands don't make formalwear in a range of sizes!

Until they do, Lizzo to the rescue.
