Last December, Lottie Tomlinson and Louis Tomlinson's mother, Johanna Deakin, passed away after a battle with leukemia. Shortly after her passing, Lottie revealed a tattoo of her mother's lips on Snapchat, which she had done on her arm months prior when her mom was still undergoing treatment.

Now, roughly 7 months later, Lottie is commemorating her mom with a second tattoo — this time on her hand, between her thumb and forefinger. The ink she decided on was both sweet and simple: a delicate open heart with the letter "J" in the middle. "For my Mumma❤️ ," she wrote her first snap, which she posted on Instagram Stories. The photo showed the tattoo still covered in protective wrapping, in order to keep the tat safe. In a second post she showed off her new design free of any wrap and tagged @tattoo13insoho, the salon in NYC where she had it done.

Lottie is continuing to remember her mom in a beautiful and permanent way. Tattoos can serve many purposes, and for Lottie, they've proven to be a touching tribute.
