You know who's feeling the "New year, new you" vibes in a big way so far this year? Louis Vuitton. The French luxury fashion house is kicking off 2024 by giving some of its archival pieces a fresh and fun "remix" tied to the resurgence of Y2K trends, and they tapped Shay Mitchell to help them do so.
Shay Mitchell is one of a handful of models for the LV Remix collection campaign; the Pretty Little Liars and You star is joined by fellow actor and Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, as well as musicians Lous & the Yakuza and Nana Ouyang. "As a highly anticipated comeback, LV Remix builds upon its iconic legacy, one that is linked to a trend-setting period in culture," the fashion house said in a press release.
The LV Remix collection is all about refreshing the classic LV monogram alongside a few fan-favorite bags from the ‘00s, including the Monogram Vernis collection, which debuted in 2000, and the Monogram Denim, which hit shelves in 2005. The drop includes the Croissant bag from 2002, two new versions of the Twist and Capucine, the Capucine East-West and the Twist West, and the Twist Little, a mini bag. LV Remix also includes trendy teeny-tiny mini bags, including a denim nano Speedy, as well as slides, sneakers, a baseball cap, and a belt. Classic Vuitton bags like the Alma (which just got BLACKPINK’s Lisa stamp of approval) and the Carryall also got an upgrade in the denim monogram print.
In the campaign, Mitchell and her co-stars swing on enormous swings in a logo-printed room, showing off the very Y2K-inspired bags but juxtaposed with sleek, modern silk parkas and floral puffers to "remix" and update the bags themselves. It's a fun tribute to the glamour and cheeky over-the-top opulence of the '00s and also a chance to nab a true piece of fashion history, so if you've had your eye on a throwback Louis Vuitton bag for a while, now's your chance.
