Maggie Rogers Took An Old-School Approach To Selling Tickets For Upcoming Tour

To beat the bots and price-gouging, Maggie gave fans the option to buy tickets IRL.

Maggie Rogers is taking a retro approach to beating those high ticket prices for her upcoming tour.

The singer/songwriter took to Instagram on Thursday to announce a special one-day pre-sale option for fans who are sick of being shut out by codes and Ticketmaster queues that last all day.

“Come buy a concert ticket like it’s 1965,” she said in a video on Instagram. “Over the last few months, there’s been a lot of conversation about how intense ticketing fees are and how insane bot activity is. How tough it is to just get tickets into the hands of fans.”

Maggie is referencing the ongoing battle between artists and ticket sellers including Ticketmaster, which has come under fire for its exorbitant fees. Taylor Swift fans know the dilemma All Too Well after many people reported having a difficult time buying tickets to her Eras Tour because of Ticketmaster’s pre-sale mess

“A lot of people, including me, are frustrated and concerned, and I’ve been thinking about a way to sort of give people another option,” Maggie continued in her video. “So we’re going old school.”

On Friday, fans could head to their local box office and buy a ticket in person to Maggie’s Summer of ‘23 tour. She also provided a link to find where she’ll be performing.

Maggie is going on tour starting July 24 with openers Soccer Mommy and Alvvays.

“It seems a little obvious, but it’s a way to get rid of some of the fees and get tickets directly into your hands,” Maggie said.

Maggie also made an appearance at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on Friday to personally sell tickets to fans for her show that will be held in Queens later this year. Fans will also be able to buy presale tickets to the Summer of ‘23 tour online.
