No one does cosplay like Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and her latest transformation even manages to make a Ninja Turtle ensemble look… chic?
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who has cosplayed everyone from Sailor Mars to Princess Peach, just took on the Ninja Turtles franchise — Donatello, to be exact — and killed it. She posted her Turtle cosplay to Instagram, posing in a parking garage in a slightly less reptilian interpretation of the crime-fighting, pizza-loving hero's look.
In the photos, Ramakrishnan wears a yellow tank with a green crocheted crop top layered over the top à la the turtle belly and shell, army green cargo shorts cinched with a grommeted belt, and brown platform combat boots. She wrapped a purple scarf around her neck and matching purple ribbons around her knees and one arm, then slipped into a purple mask like Donatello's. The actor also carries a staff, just like his go-to weapon, because Ramakrishnan is a total cosplay pro.

The Ninja Turtles are having a moment thanks to the new movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, but the Turtles themselves have been around since 1984. Ramakrishnan's take on their look is certainly more stylish than the teen Turtles themselves (sorry, guys); she could easily tweak the base outfit for a day of running errands, then re-accessorize for a screening of the new movie.
Of course, this stylish twist on cosplay is par for the course for Ramakrishnan. In June, she wore a stunning corseted aquamarine dress with Chihiro Ogino, the main character of the beloved classic Spirited Away, printed on the bodice. The actor is constantly evolving her personal style but favors bright colors, princess-inspired gowns, and metallic and shimmery textures, blending fanciful elements with red-carpet-worthy sophistication.
Whether she's dressing up as her favorite anime or comic book characters or getting all glammed up in a ballgown, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan continues to be one of our favorite celebs to watch!
