Margaret Qualley is proving she's the ultimate bombshell in a minidress. Whether it's black, white, or made of tweed, the 30-year-old actor isn't afraid of a short hemline, and her latest looks are great inspiration for a homecoming dress.
The Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Class of 2018 actor was making her rounds of press appearances this week in New York City as she promotes her latest project, Honey Don't! — a queer true crime story that also stars Aubrey Plaza, Chris Evans, Charlie Day, and Billy Eichner. The Ethan Coen-directed film follows Qualley's Honey O’Donahue, a small-town private investigator who is looking into a series of unsolved deaths tied to a local church while also having a love affair with Plaza's character.
As she was promoting her latest movie, Qualley embraced the New York heatwave and opted for two short dresses. The actor walked the red carpet at the premiere of Honey Don't! at the Metrograph theater in Manhattan, wearing a little black dress made just for her — literally. Qualley wore a custom Chanel minidress made out of the brand's signature tweed material that featured spaghetti straps and a short hemline.
Qualley paired the simple LBD with a pair of black strappy heels, along with her wedding ring courtesy of husband Jack Antonoff. She also slicked back her hair to a low bun, showing off her large diamond stud earrings, bold brows, and dewy makeup.
The next day, Margaret Qualley let her hair down and switched into a little white dress for her next event. Making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on August 14, Qualley went in the opposite direction color-wise and decided to wear a white minidress.
Instead of spaghetti straps like her Chanel dress, this one featured a halter-style top and linen material, made by the brand SIR. She paired the white dress with white pointed heels and instead kept her hair down with her bangs pulled back in a pouf on her head.
Qualley played truth or dare with Fallon and dared him to lay flat on the desk while he interviewed her. While asking her questions, Qualley joked that all “lesbian detective thriller films” have Aubrey Plaza in them.
Honey Don't! is the second film collaboration between Qualley and director Ethan Coen — the first being the 2024 movie Drive-Away Dolls. When Honey Don't! premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May, the audience gave a lively six-minute standing ovation at the end.
