Ahead of the Oscars 2025, Millie Bobby Brown fittingly paid homage to veteran actor Gwenyth Paltrow. For The Electric State premiere in Madrid, Spain, Brown donned a red carpet dress that took us back to 1998, six years before she was even born.

Back then, Paltrow was attending the New York City premiere of Shakespeare in Love, which she would go on to win the best actress category for at the Oscars in 1999. She donned a Giorgio Armani sheer baby blue dress, covered in shiny beaded embroidery. She paired the sleeveless dress with a dark blue shawl, a popular styling choice back in the ‘90s, and silver strappy sandals.

Paltrow wore her signature blonde hair straight, opted for a dark nude lip, and lined her eyes with dark black pencil to contrast the silver inner corner glitter and baby blue eyeshadow that matched her dress. Though she opted for dark red polish on her toes, she kept her fingernails simple with a sheer polish that had just a subtle sparkle effect.

Yesterday, Feb. 27, 2025, Brown recreated Paltrow’s outfit almost to a tee. She wore the same dress and a similar shawl. However, she decided to take some creative liberty in the beauty department. Though she happens to be blonde now like Paltrow, she instead went with a side part and styled her hair in loose curls, giving it an Old Hollywood glam vibe.

With one side tucked behind her ear, she also showed off her stunning blue and purple crystal drop earrings. While she similarly went with a light blue eyeshadow, it seems she opted for a little less glitter and eyeliner. She also went for a lighter lip and opted for long French tip nails.

This isn’t the first time Brown has used style to reference one of the greats who came before her. Just the day prior, she referenced Pamela Anderson with an all-gold look. Earlier this week, she made Barbie blue with a beachy look. We’re unsure what prompted Brown’s recent string of homages, but we’re surely keeping our eyes peeled for her next one!
