Two words: sprinkle pool.
The Museum of Ice Cream opens today in New York City, and it's already become the hottest (ahem, coldest) thing on Instagram. Boasting picture-perfect sugary treats, candy-colored walls and a "chocolate chamber," the pop-up art installation is finger-licking adorable for a social media sundae funday.
Of course, tickets to the sweet spot sold out almost immediately after being announced (ice cream fans can try their luck in line today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), but luckily we snagged the scoop ahead of time so your stomach and eyes can envy.
Here's the sweet entrance.
Grab a scoop (the trendy exclusive flavors provided by NYC spots like OddFellows change weekly).
Check out the ice cream art installations.
Chew on a glycoprotein pill (made of berries) that confuse your taste buds, making the lemon slices in these cones taste sweet and the ice cream taste sour.
__Take a spin on an ice cream scoop seesaw -- in an exhibit sponsored by Tinder. __
Inhale a sugar & helium balloon.
And, of course, dive into the sprinkle pool.
The life-size pool (complete with pink beach balls and "lifeguard") contains 11,000 pounds of faux sprinkles.
While the spot will melt away on Aug. 31, co-founder Manish Vora says the success of the month-long exhibit may spur the creators to seek a more permanent or larger venue. (Manish even teased hopes of creating an Olympic-sized sprinkle pool with us.)
And despite being #nofilter ready, Manish reveals to Teen Vogue that the exhibition's initial purpose was simply a childhood dream come to life.
"[Co-founder Maryellis Burn] had a passion for ice cream as a child and dreams of swimming in a sea of sprinkles," Manish said. "We want people to taste, to smell, to take those photos, but not just leave with a photo — instead, leave remembering their favorite childhood ice cream memory."
